Jen is certified with both Slowtwitch and BikeFit as a professional bike fit specialist for road, triathlon/ time trial, gravel, cyclocross and mountain bike. She is also certified in shoe pedal interface to align your bony structure for more efficiency with pedal stroke, power output and injury prevention.

She corrects pain and dysfunction with cycling clients (on bikes and on Pelotons in homes). She can enhance your performance, efficiency and power application with her physical therapy and sports medicine background.

For your bike fit:

We schedule bike fits for 2 hours- typically new fits fall between 60-120 minutes. We do have a fit bike, fit stem, adjustable handlebars and adjustable cranks so fits can be fully customizable and diagnostic. We do have stems and saddles in stock for convenience if we should diagnose an improved option. If we diagnose that you need a different stem, we carry Ritchey WCS, black that are $135. You can always purchase one through your local bike shop or online. We typically ask that you remove any mounts on the handlebars ahead of time to expedite the process.

We will send past medical history forms, appointment reminder, bike information, location, etc… via email through our system, Jane. You will want to bring the following items with you:

1) bike

2) bike shoes

3) any insoles you’ve used

4) any spare stems or saddles

5) chamois (bike shorts)

6) top comfortable to sweat in (you will likely have to work a little as we dial in)

7) water/ water bottle (I have some if you forget)

FAQs:

  • You will need to contact us to schedule. We offer an in depth bike & shoe:pedal fit that can be completely custom tailored to your needs. Some cyclist choose to bring multiple shoes & bikes. This also means the amount of time we dedicate for your fit differs.

  • Fits include: cleat wedges and 1 mm pedal spacers- if needed. Leg length shims, 20 mm pedal spacers, heel wedges and orthotics all have an additional cost that we pass onto you if those items are needed.

  • If you are looking for new shoes, before the fit is the perfect time. Here are some resources that may help guide you, but always feel free to reach out:

Feet and Shoe Orthotics

15-30 minute add on service if needed

$85 (cost of insoles) + time

Jen has a special niche with feet and toes since they are the foundation for all movement and propulsion. They are a fixed point in your bike fit when you are clipped in and it is beneficial to have proper fitting shoes to avoid nerve compression, as well as, cleat placement and positioning on the bike for injury prevention and efficiency of power transfer.

This service includes an evaluation of your feet and recommendation for semi-custom foot orthoses (shoe inserts) if they would benefit. You can typically leave with insoles the same day. The insoles will be custom molded to your foot. She will make recommendations for shoe wear or any additional tools as needed.

Jen Schook adjusting the fit stem on a road bike for a bike fit

“Thank you so much for my bike fit. I rode over an hour with absolutely no discomfort on the saddle or in my feet. I felt more powerful.”

“After 2 visits, I ran for the first time this morning. So far, so good and I rode 350 miles last week. I am happy things are on the mend.”

“I have done several easy rides and overall I am feeling really good about the fit! My shoulder position is amazing, I don't feel like I am shrugging my shoulders anymore. I am "feeling" my sit bones now in the saddle. I can tell the cleat position is good but it is taking a little getting used to, I think my body wants to go a certain way and it is fighting a bit BUT it is comfortable. My husband says I look so much better on the bike.”
